Sappada and Comelico: holidays in the Dolomites of Alto Cadore
Sappada and Val Comelico are located in the Dolomites of Alto Cadore. The area borders South Tyrol and Austria.
Travelling along Comelico towards west, you will first find the wonderful Val Visdende followed by the localities San Pietro and Santo Stefano di Cadore, San Nicolò di Comelico and at the end Padola.
In summer this area is the hikers' paradise: it offers various paths in the quiet and beautiful alpine landscapes, rich in fields and woods. In winter the main attractions are Nevelandia, Italy's biggest snow park, and the ski slopes of Sappada and Padola.
The gastronomic tradition is very interesting offering simple dairy products and typical culinary specialities.
